How do Filipina attains education and occupation before vs. today?
I think being a Filipina before requires you to follow all the rules given by your family or what the society points you to be. Actually, as we read the novels of Dr. Jose Rizal, we could find out that being a woman before was really hard. A good education was not given by women, they were just required to stay in their own houses, and do household chores. When it comes to work, their abilities and capabilities were being set aside because of the term "just a woman". Babae ka lang kaya mahina ka... that's why all they could do before was to do the household chores. Gender equality to the Filipino women before was really unfair. But nowadays, Filipino women are free. They could lead people. In school, they could be a great leader and soar high.
